What would you say to a first time Linnie owner?
I am literally a week or two away from adopting a Lineolated Parakeet. She is handraised - a June 2008 baby. She currently lives with her breeder as her first forever home never took her.
She has been described as calm, quiet, curious, sweet natured, non-biter. Apparently, unlike her sister, she is happy to play quietly with her toys while her sister squawks for attention I have asthma, but from what I've read, a Linnie is ok - it's the dusty birds like Tiels that aren't good for me. What would be your advice for a first time bird owner taking on a Linnie? |

Oh, they are precious little peeps!
I've heard that they have different poops compared to other parrots of their size. Larger and looser. That may be b/c of their voracious appetite when it comes to fresh produce :) Can't wait to see pix of your new baby!

Congrats on your impending arrival. 8D Linnies are adorable--I've been thinking about getting one some time in the future, though they don't really breed them here in Hawaii. Shame~
