those going away for the holidays??

what are you planning to do wit your fids? i have to go back home (kcmo) but i dont wanna leave the birds with anyone sons father can check on them but i dont trust him enough to feed his self let alone my fids lol!!! j/k (not really) i will prob be gone 3-7 days if i can figure out something for my fids and taking them with me is out of the ?!!!! thanks in advance

I am hiring a petsitter this vacation. It is expensive ($280 for seven days for my eight fids) but well worth it after the fiasco that I had over the summer.

I had my cousin housesit/ bird sit over our summer vacation (paid her as well) and it was a disaster. This time I did not want to take any chances and hired someone who is a professional and knows what she is doing.

We also hire a petsitter who comes to the house twice a day. We take the two Macaws with us because Merlin doesnt like anyone but me and he would spend the entire 2 weeks in his cage, as far as the other birds we are lucky because our petsitters take the them out and spend time with them.

I don't leave anywhere I just stay home and take care of the birds!

I am not going anywhere for Christmas, but when I do travel, I have a petsitter who comes to the house and takes care of all the critters. She also has a "resort" for cats and birds (HomePage), and several of my friends have their pets board with her when they are away so they get even more attention. Sometimes I get the funny feeling that the petsitter is more fun than I am

well after some thought im only leaving for a day ! will leave in the morning and come home in the evening! i think bf can handle things that long lol
