Alex Foundation event in NJ

I just wanted to thank everyone involved in this event for making it so easy to attend and a great pleasure. Especially the speakers.

All the speakers were exceptional, but I was especially impressed with Liz Wilson who probably would have answered questions on parrot behavior all day if not for the time constraints. Liz was very knowledgable and entertaining.

Dr. Pepperberg was the main reason I drove from NC to attend and I was not disappointed. Her work is fascinating and confirms what I always knew about parrots, that they are more intelligent than many people I know.

All in all a wonderful day and a great experience for me.

Thanks especially to Lisa B. who provided all the information and to The Freinds of the Alex Foundation for sponsoring the event as well as Bird Paradise for providing the facilities.

What a FABULOUS day! Liz Wilson is always a TREAT, and I enjoyed meeting other Birdboard members Lisa Bono, Regina, Rose, and MARY, who I know well from other boards. It was a very informative and fun day with fun raffles and EXCELLENT presentations! Special THANKS to Lisa Bono and other Friends of the Alex Foundation, who worked especially hard to bring it all together. Her husband George was our A/V expert and made sure everyone's computer or slide presentation was great. Bird Paradise ROCKS as a store, and we bought NIMO (our BG macaw) a colorful ladder which he loves. Mark and I really enjoyed ourselves, and meeting Mary was a special treat. I too wanted to post my enjoyment of the day with the Alex Foundation and the other speakers. It was a great treat to see so many people who were enthusiastic about their birds. To Lisa and Regina who worked so hard as well as all the other volunteers, thank you for making the day such a joy. :eusa_clap

Thank you all VERY much for the positive feedback and your kind words.....It was a lot of work....I think more than we relized....
but to know that everyone enjoyed the seminar, had a good time, and got have some long anticipated meeting among members.....IT WAS WORTH EVERY SINGLE MINUTE SPENT preparing.

I was very happy to meet you all....ITs real nice to put a face with a name and to forge new friendships!!!!

Pamela....THANK YOU for the card, and for the gift....I filled up with tears when I read it....it means alot....and it is very appreciated!!!!

The guest speakers and the gang who worked behind the scenes went out to dinner afterward...I took pics.

We just got back from teh Airport, dropping off Dr Wade.

Thank you all for saying such nice things. We really worked hard and long hours to put this together. But, yesterday make it all worth while. It was great to meet all of you. Scott, I can't believe I didn't meet you! I am so sorry. We were running around and it was alittle hectic at times for us. I wish we all had more time to talk. Lisa did the bulk of the work.... and she DID DO A FANTASTIC JOB!!!!! Thank you all for coming. I am so glad you enjoyed yourselves. I agree with Lisa about getting some sleep today.... we all need it. Hope to talk to all of you more. You are all as wonderful in person, as you are on this board!

I finally figured out where my husband downloaded the few pics I got of the day to!!!!
If anyone else has pics please post them...I don't have any of the actual event...but have one of the gang at dinner......We took the guest speakers out for dinner to say thank you for donating their time to the Alex Foundation.
We had one person fly in from Washington state, and one from California, to ATTEND the seminar!!!!

I was told it was one of the most successful fundraisers so far!!!!

If anyone is wondering, Dr Wade is the vet that Melissa is fortunate to have.....Dr Wade was my vet in NYC before moving upstate NY to open her own practice.
