My baby Halfmoon Picaso

Hey folks I finally made up my mind and decided to go with the Halfmoon conure. It was a tough decision. I almost went with a Cherryhead but was nervous cause I rent & the heard issues about them being too loud.
My Halfmoon has been home a week now & he is settling in slowly.
I have to work on his biting & step up. He's very cautious when roaming the cage & a bit clumsy.
I'm thinking of maybe getting him a roomate. If I go with another halfmoon I'm gonna need to have Picaso sexed cause I don't know his gender.

Thanks for all your advice on helping me make my decision.

Picasso is BEAUTIFUL! I love half-moon (aka orange-fronted or Petz conures) conures :)

Keep in mind that half-moon conures are in the same genus as the cherry-heads: aratinga. Aratinga conures are known for being quite vocal. I don't think that a single half-moon would be a problem but two could be... but that's not based on experience. Others more familiar with the species can fill you in on that!

Best of luck with the little darling!

Thanks for the nice compliments .

I know that Halfmoons are in the Aratinga genus and I read that they are one of the "quieter" ones so I am taking a chance.
He's real quiet so far probably cause Picaso is still young and getting familiar with his surroundings. I remember having parakeets that would chatter up a storm.
