Dr. Irene Pepperberg is an adjunct associate professor at the Dept. of Psychology, Brandeis University, Waltham, MA. She is also a lecturer and research associate at Harvard University, in Cambridge, MA.

Irene Pepperberg studies Grey parrots. The main focus of her work is to determine the cognitive and communicative abilities of these birds, and compare their abilities with those of great apes, marine mammals, and young children. She is studying the mechanisms of their learning as well as the outcomes.

Her Topic on Sunday Night will be about Alex's accomplishments, some of the ways he innovated, how he compared to children, how the work is being adapted for use w/ children w/ disabilities, how the work might impact conservation...

Kelly, you can listen online live from your computer if you have speakers, you both can hear it there. You can also dial in and listen from more than one handset. Or you can dial in and them let him dial in from a different phone.
