My oldest and biggest dog Robbie, Gorden Setter,
Found a baby magpie somewhere. Carried it in his mouth to his outside bed and sat with it, I didn't realize why he was outside just sitting there barking and not coming in for dinner. When I started putting my angry voice on he picked up the baby and dropped it in front of me and sat. I was please but upset at the same time. Last time I took in a stray birds (Pigeon) I raised it for 3 weeks, from the egg! Then both died suddenly and for no reason that I know of. So I asked my dog to take me to where found it. He ran straight to the fence where there is a massive hedge.I sat it in paper towel (after giving it a drink) in the hedge where i oculd hear another bird. Now I'm hoping that it mummy finds it. I don't think i could stand the guilt if it dies there. It's only 2+ weeks old.
