Linda-

I always enjoy all of the info that you impart in your posts. It is wonderful of you to find these sites and share them. I am familiar with your story and how you had to give up Leah for health reasons. In fact, I am on a website with Leah's new Mommy, and she has wonderful things to say about you. I am very sorry that you had to make such a huge sacrifice. It's a great thing that Indigo Skye has joined your family and helped with your grief. Since these parrots are tiny and don't have dust, maybe you could get a second P'let. just beware. These parrots aren't known for accepting new P'lets easily. they feel they are so huge that there is no room for any other birds. Jill Paulos is a wonderful lady and a breeder of P'lets. She could definifively answer the question of more than one P'let. Good luck with whatever you decide. In the meantime, give that gorgeous Indigo Skye kissies from me and my Romeo. I would include Bella, but her beaky has been known to be naughty. LOL

They have some really great toys. Forraging is really important as it keeps the birds brains and bodies busy. In the wild parrots spend a good part of the day looking for food and for the most part those in captivity have bowls in front of their beaks.

Wow Tracey, I am really so touched by your kind words. It really does ease the pain. I try not to speak of it often because it is so painful. I agree that Skye probably would NOT enjoy a second P'let, he is a HUGE personality...sometimes it's hard to believe he's only an ounce of a bird, LOL. He's got the personality of 10 bigger birds Thank you for your advice about them, I really do appreciate it. It was just that loving birds as much as I do, sometimes I am overwhelmed by wanting 'another'. I am hoping when my husband and I finish remodeling our new home and move, he will build me an outdoor aviary/flight, and we will have a few pigeons. That way I can still have other birds, but they can be outside. We have a barn there that the pigeons can stay in during the winter if the weather is too cold or windy. Mostly we have very strong winds to deal with in winter, rather than temps.
Gosh, sorry I've been so talkative. I do appreciate your kindness and advice, and hugs back to you from me and Skye to all of you, including Bella(love that name!). Oh, and I think Lee is the greatest!!!
