No Fear of the dog

Tic Tac has no fear of our boxer, witch is fine. She will completley ignore the dog when she is 2 inchs away from her, and the other day she just about walked across the dog to try to get to the hubby. It does bother me a little because I know if givin a chance my dog would do "something" to her. Do you guys have fids like that?

My dog is 75 lbs. Luckily, she is a saint, because my lovebird wants to be on her all the time. Jack will not leave Shenzi alone!
Sometimes it's so bad, I have to put Shenzi in another room just to protect her!
Shenzi has long hair, so I'm sure Jack likes how it feels. Jack plows through the hair trying to hide in it. Shenzi either freezes or rolls her eyes at me and sighs.
Often, when Jack is out, I spend all my time chasing Jack away.
Shenzi would NEVER snap at Jack, but on the off chance Jack landed near her eye or something, I don't want to take a chance.
My poor dog, she is the most amazing creature on the planet.

I would never take that chance. My birds are never out when the dogs are in the house. Never. My dogs are the sweetest friendliest dogs ever, but I don't care how sweet a dog is, the predatory instinct is there and it only takes a split second for tragedy to strike.

Yep I have fids like that ^_^ If you know your dog would do "something" do NOT take the chance! My dog Flea plays with Ashling whenever they're out together. As long as he is lying down quietly, I let them do what they like. Ashling preens his paws and rolls on her back as he prods her feet and flicks his tongue at her. She slides along, flaps her wings, pins her eyes, purrs, growls and whistles. She absolutely loves these games and I don't have the heart to stop them. I tell Flea "gentle" and he moves slowly and- well- gently. They're never out of my sight though. One accidental wrong move of the paw, or too hard a prod could hurt Ash. I'm sure Flea would never bite her; the only bird he's ever chased is the feral pigeon and the only animal is the wild mouse. When he feels uncomfortable with her, he slowly gets up and moves away.
My huskies I would NOT leave alone with her, or let them play without me right beside them. They have killed some of my chickens and watch the birds with hunger when they walk around or fly. None of my birds are afraid of dogs... the chickens will follow Flea around when he has a bone!

Sorry the pics are so big!

Yeah my dogs are scared of my alexandrine a bit, (My dogs are Gordan Setters..NOT tiny in the slightest) and my bird whenever they approach automatically starts biting their noses and the dogs turn away and sulk.
Though when I wasn't home one of them got a hold of Icarus and was holding him in his mouth...blood everywhere...don't get me wrong the dog was in agony the bird shredded the inside of his mouth..bird completely un scaved except one missing feather. :|

Answer to your question, don't trust your dogs, mine are gentle and sweet but they are still predators.
Im slowly teaching both mine to be gentle around the bird, 'sit' when they see him. It's working but I keep close watch and a hand on the collar for safety..as 'Ashling' said, one slip of the paw and it could break the poor fids ><

I have 2 english mastiffs, HUGE dogs, one of the largest breedsd in the world, and they can be ferocious when they want to, but they are BOTH terrified of my birds!!! The birds go out of their way to bite the dogs if they walk by close enough to their areas, and the dogs take off yelping like pups, LOL!
