Weird.. A lot of them seemed opposed to red.. except mine which is probably a good thing since Elliot IS red. LOL.

Mine don't really have color aversions, but object aversions. Newt is terrified of a flashlight and the mailbox...go figure

I have not found anything yet that ruffles Elliot's feathers other than someone coming to close to the house he doesn't know.. my little watchbird... LOL. So far he is fearless.

Well Dave made a liar out of me. Today the three of us were hanging out on the couch watching a movie and Dave picked up a red toy he would have nothing to do with just days ago and started playing with it.

I will never figure out the way their little minds work.

Oh yeah, and who is surprised that Elliot is fearless? I would have been more surprised to hear that he had a phobia. I love that guy.

I have a couple of nicknames for him because of his fearlessness. One is "my little stealth bomber" and the other is "ninja birdie". He just amazes me.

My CAG Kaytee supposedly hated yellow (the lady who surrendered her told me this). I stayed away from yellow for a while but I have this really nice yellow sweatshirt that I like, so I wore it one day and she was fine. She even came out of her cage and onto my shoulder which is something she VERY RARELY does on her own (she's very cage aggressive and it took me a year to be able to pet her while she's in her cage... but the yellow shirt seemed ok with her.
I just got 2 sun conures (also surrendered) and their previous owner swears they hate red--- I guess we'll see.

At the raptor center I volunteer at, somewhere in the handbook it was mentioned that lots of red may scare the birds there. So it's not just parrots. So we catch them in lightly-colored towels - not red ones - and I never wear a red shirt there.
