Anyone ever built a DIY bird shower?

Hi there,

We have always showered with our birds and they love it. But recently, we had our Eclectus try and shower himself under the kitchen sink tap, so I'd love to build them a birdie shower.

I have a space ovet the bath in an all-tiled bathroom that would be the perfect spot.

Has anyone had a go at this?
Any advice?
Parts?
Ideas?

Ta,

DF

Not necessarily homemade, but perhaps some of these will give you ideas?

PVC perches can always be wrapped in vet wrap, hemp rope, cotton rope, or sisal. If you want to build yourself, just look at the ideas above and perhaps you'll get an idea!

Thanks Monica. That's a heap of great info.

The shower in the house we just bought is soooooo small I can bearly fit myself in there, so the stand part isn't a problem, it's getting us all in the one small cubicle that is!

I'l have to have a play with some garden fittings and see if I can get some sort of mild water spray to be positioned over their perch, which I intend to sit over the bath.

If I end up getting the motivation to build it, I'll post it.

I made this one for my guys. Was pretty easy with a trip to the local hardware store and I found it more secure then the suction cup ones that I have used before.

Zachary the DYH amazon

Hasn't actually been used yet at the zon isn't too good with being up high unless attached to me due to crappy wings, the grey has a breakdown going into the bathroom and the galah still isn't sure what she thinks of the whole shower thing but...in theory it does work minus a bird on it.
