How secure are shower perches?

Hi folks.
Well, we now have our new family member! "Berkeley" (pronounced Bark-lay) the Eclectus.
He is delightful, but still settling in. We collected him from the breeder on Sunday, having had our name on him since he was an egg!
I don't plan to do this just yet, not until he is more relaxed and settled here, but I was wondering if anyone has tried out the shower/ window perches that attach with suction cups?
Are they pretty secure?

I have one, they seem secure, but I use an extra curtain rod that I put in the middle of the tub for them to be able to go back and forth. They seem to like that curtain rod better and it is secure also

I've found that if I first clean and dry the shower tile well, the shower perch adheres better.

I have one and couldnt get it to stick on anything for any length of time.Maybe mine was defective because it wouldnt even stick for more then 15 min to a clean window without falling off.
Very dissappointing.

Shower perches are like humans. Fine until they get old, lol. No, I use mine allot its important that you clean the shower wall real well and rinse rinse rinse all the cleaner residue off. Then thats thing will stick forever. I use one for a Macaw and another smaller for A Too. When they stop sticking its time to clean the suction cups and wall reall good behind them.

We use one with Gracie... she loves coming right into the shower with us. In fact, she will fly halfway across the house to join us as soon as she hears water running in the bathroom shower.

You can see a shot of her here Waiting for the water to start.

LOL! Pardon me for stating the obvious, but it's rather important to clean & dry your shower walls really well anyway.

It significantly cuts down on the growth of Stachybotrys - that nasty toxic Black mold that creeps it way along the grout between your tiles. ;)

I have one as well, and I have used it for several years without a problem. The only real issue is that I can't use it with my cockatoo because she likes to pull the suction cups off the wall while she is standing on it!

Sophie's shower perch is mounted to the wall. So it is very secure. She loves her showers!
