Do you leave food out for your bird all day?

Hi, I'm starting to work on clicker training with my birds and read somewhere that some people don't leave food out all day for their birds. I leave food in their cages at all times, changing the fresh food for dry food after a couple of hours. They have access to food 24/7. What is your routine?

Kuja has access to pellets all day. Seeds, fresh food, and treats go in morning and evening.

I typically leave pellets in all day long and change in the morning if need be. I pretty much know the amount they will eat in a day so I don't have to waste any. Fresh food I give them in the mornings and take it out in a few hours (depending on what it is) if there is any left. Some days I will give them a seed treat and leave it in until gone.

I would still leave food out, but pick a special treat that you will only use for training, like I use pine nuts.

I understand that if you weigh the food for several days you can "short" them a gram or two so that they are ready to eat when you work on training. Of course this applies to a bird that isn't interested in a special treat.

Leave in all day.
Eggfood, veggy mashes etc are fed in morning so can take any left overs away by dinner.

But most birds will come running over for a sunflower seed or pine nut even if they've just gorged themselves since I leave them as treats only.

Seed & pellet mix, millet, beak block and nutriberrries are in all day. Fresh veggies, fruit and soak seed are there most of the day, but refreshed often throughout the day. Some foods like egg or when we share our dinner is only there for 1/2 hour then thrown out.
