Cool Can you answer this green cheek question?

Hi everyone!

I was just curious if anyone knew at what age range, should a Green Cheek Conure be at full size/weight. And also, what is a healthy weight range for the Green Cheek? I've scoured the internet and books without any luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!
Tyler

Im going with my gut here haveing owned a few and sen a few older ones. Probably by a year or so I would think they are full size - Im not sure when sexual maturity is for Greenies but I'm thinkin its about that. The smaller the bird the younger the sexual maturity. Most animals are full size and weight at sexual maturity except for horses which can reproduce much younger but If you consider how the social Heiarchy works they wouldnt get to breed until they were big and strong enough to win mares. Birds dont usually have that problem. I think about 60-70 grams is the norm.

they reach sexual maturity at about 2yrs - full grown i'd say after about 12-18mths when it comes to weight.... lori's right about the weight range - somewhere between 60-70g. but they can be a little below (like down to 55g if they're small, or up to a little over 70g if they're bigger)

Norm weight range I'd say is 60-80! I've seen some pretty big GC's! They were not bigger than cockatiels, but they were certainly bigger than the average green cheek!

Full size? Well, they are about adult size at 6-12 weeks of age, however their weight may continue to fluctuate here and there. Kind of like dogs... they may be full size at 8-12 months in age, however a large breed dog may not be considered an adult until it is 2-4 years old.
