Question Question for Green cheek conure owners?

i have a green cheek conrue before i had petrie. he was the sweetest bird i have ever met. he loved to play like crazy. he was tons of fun to watch take baths. he loved to snuggle with people when he was soaking wet and laugh as we awwwed at his cute little wetness lol. probly my favorite thing about him was that he would chase you like he was a dog. Sadly he died after we had him for a year. he was 1 year and 7 months old. the cause of death was from a birth defect due to his parents were sibling (dumb breeders). well my question is what are they like. i know that there quiet except for the little cute sreeching noise that they make when they want you. i feel in love with mines call lol. i didnt have him long enough to really bond with him and get to fully know characteristics of the bird. so can you give me any information about yours. what do you like, dont like, love, and any misc info you can give. im debating on getting another GCC but i dont want it to be like a replacement.
thank you all. and im sorry for the length of this.

I love green cheeks. Seems to me females have been the best for me so far but thats just me. I dont like the nippy stage you go thru but once you get past it they are great little buddies - more parrotlike than teils and hold food in the feet. One of the ones I have now is said to talk but I havent heard it.

I have two, one is a rescue and hates women(which means me).
But the other one loves me.I think they are great, small, fairly quiet. The noise they make is cool, like a tropical jungle. They dont hurt my ears like the tiels do.
I dont like the nippys either.Thats really the only drawback I can see with GCC..If you had yours for a year you pretty much know how they are then.

greencheeks - where to start... i'd need a book to describe valo - well, i'll try to keep it short

*) he's a clown... climbs all over the place, plays, follows you around like a little puppy dog with wings

*) baths - those guys just love to bathe

*) valo rings his bell when he's in the cage but is of the opinion that the human slave (aka me) has to come and tend to him

*) talk about character... he's full of it. he knows what he wants, and he usually gets it (i know, bad me)

*) when it comes to noise - yeah, they're quietER which means that they can still screech plenty

*) valo's rarely nippy with me - but he's territorial... the house and me is his... he doesn't like to share and lets people know... that's why he has to stay in his cage when people are over because he bites them

*) he can get away with his stubbornness and territorial behavior because there are those moments where he's just the cutest... he comes over, sits next to me, looks at me and tells me to "come here" and "kiss kiss"... and then we snuggle and mr. stinkefuss gets his head scratch and shows by turning into a poof-ball how content he his... i love my little man

I babysat a pineapple-mutation greencheek for two months and he was a lot of fun. Nippy little booger though. The biggest downside for me was that I couldn't let him get near the cockatiels. He weighed less than them but his beak was three times bigger than theirs, and I was afraid the tiels would get hurt.

Here's a picture of him taking a bath. It looks like he's part squid or something:
