Where to get a nice aviary??

I would really like to invest in a nice aviary for Dewey for when the weather is nice. Nothing too big, about 8'x12' and has to have a safety door.

Some aviaries like those suncather hexagon ones for for about $2000 a pop. which I dont know about anyone else, but is a lot of money for me.

Most of the ones I like are in Europe or Australia, and with the depreciating dollar makes those far from affordable:
Welded Wire Mesh, Gabion baskets, PVC coated gabions, Mesh Fencing, welded mesh rolls, weld mesh panels, stainless steel, galvanised
I like how the panels are powder coated too.

So where did you guys get yours? How well do you like it?
Is the galvanized panels a thing to worry about? Especially with rusting?

Sorry for all the questions, but its kind of an expensive endeavor to go in blind.

Building mine. There are some nice powder coated dog kennels out there now for larger birds you can put a top on but you wont get a safty door unless you build it on yourself.

I will be starting on mine this spring. I am buying things now-so the price is spread out--here's a link (I hope I'm allowed to share it) that has places to buy supplies and ideas

We made ours also, however we will be building an outdoor one probably the end of this year sometime. It's just so much cheaper if you are inclined. If you want to buy one, you either could try to find one second hand or pay the $$$.

Google Wingz Avian on line...They have some nice aviaries at what looks to me like reasonable prices...I just got their catalog and it looks like you can even purchase just the caging if you are building your own.

I made my own it is 10'long X 5' deep X 6' tall, I priced around to have it made but I couldnt get anything cheaper than $3000, so I got out the wire feed welder (approximate cost $430) got some 1' tube steel stock for the frame(140' costed around $150 at the time five years ago) got a roll of 1" X 1" mesh that was four feet wide and 100 feet long(had 40' left when I was done) and that only cost $150, Paint and other supplies cost @ $40, which all totals around $770 but that includes the price of the welder which I got to keep so if you already have a welder than it should not cost you more than $500 at todays prices, I originally built it for an Iguana (he didn't like it) so I used it for four years as a garbage nook/cage till I realized that "Hey... I have birds that would just love this thing!" so I got the garbage out of it and dusted it off and drug it to my back deck and hoisted it up and did a little cleaning and installing of much needed toys and goodies and "Whalla! Bird Aviary!"
As you can from the pic It still need some TLC but right now I am currently working on that. Dont be afraid of the welding machine, anybody can figure those things out, they are easy to use and if you get a new one , it usually comes with instructions which are pretty easy to figure out. Also dont be surprised that when you get one and have done a little bit of welding that you may get hooked on using it for everything, welding machines are addicting, here is a few pics-

We bought a dog kennel in Lowes for something like 240.00 or so. It was on sale and a 100.00 cheaper. It is 6'x10' without roof, we took one panel for the roof and one as a spare pannel or divider (it's in use right now), so it 'shrinked' a little. It is 5'x5' now. We will probably buy another one, so they can stay outside during the summer. We will have to make it critterproofed and put some wire around it, so no weasel or whatever can get in and chew on our birds . IMG_1794.JPG

I never thought of a dog kennel. what about the paint? Do you have to send a sample to a lab to make sure its safe?
