Where do you birds sleep?

Do they have a sleeping cage? A sleep hut? Do they have a certain perch they sleep on?

Jack (lovie) in a tent. Chino (gcc) hangs onto the bars with his feet, but lies backward on the side of his hut.
No separate sleeping cage.

In my bedroom, in her cage. I can't very easily provide her with 12 hours of good sleep in the main area of the house with the two dogs, three boys and one husband playing Guitar Hero, lol.

I have a bird room with 1 caged cherry headed conure, 5 cage-free cockatiels, 4 cage-free budgies, 1 cage-free bourke. Bourke sleeps on standing gym. Cockatiels sleep on hoopball, standing gym, or ontop of the conures cage. Budgies sleep on hanging perches, wallperch, hoopball, or gym. They may sometimes even sleep on a boing. One tiel may even sleep on one of the hanging perches.

Then we have Charlie. His day cage is in my bedroom, and his night cage is in the birdroom. He *LOVES* going to bed! Gets so excited, eyes pinning, wing flap, making a bunch of noise. He can't wait to get into his sleep cage, and jump on the bottom. Once inside, he may make a bunch of, what I like to call, circus noises, however as soon as I go to leave (if not before that) his screaming fits start up! It's an all out scream fest and a run to get out the door!

He doesn't sleep in a separate room for his *OWN* sleep, but for mine! If I don't put him in another room, I'll be grumpy in the morning!

We have to make sure that all our birds are secure in their cages/aviaries. We have a cat and 3 dogs. Although, they do not have free reign of the house. Some of our fids are a little silly about how they sleep. The budgies sleep in their swings. The nanday sleeps hanging on to the side of the cage and his rope swing. Lovebirds sometimes upside down or sideways. The silliest one is the quaker. Usually she will sleep normally on a perch, but sometimes if we cover her up, she will sleep on the side of the cage peeking out behind the blanket. lol

Rio sleeps in his regular cage in my bedroom. I don't think he would tolerate a sleeping cage, he is crazy and never wants to sleep. I thought birds always needed 10-12 hours of sleep but Rio is nuts. He plays ALL THE TIME. I've tried to put him to bed at 8:00 pm or so but he really won't have it. He'll continue to play and bite his toys and crunch on pellets until HE wants to go to bed.

But it is so cute when he does because he always sleeps in his birdie tent. I just put a new one in his cage today and a snuggle sack (I think thats what it is called, it's more circular and only has one little hole to go in and out) and he has already been hanging out in there. So I think that will be his new favorite.

Charlie is just happy to stay up late with me and be with me! However, he tends to be a bigger pain to handle at night, too! So I *KNOW* he's ready to go to bed, he just wants me to go to bed with him! Not gonna happen! Besides, I wouldn't be able to fit in his sleep cage!

My birds actually get 9-14 hours of sleep, depending on the time of year.

Sleep cage in bathroom for my CAG on either a swing or the high perch, it hangs from the ceiling. Currently a large plastic dog crate with a perch inside for the U2 in either the bird room (I think it used to be called our living room) or in my bedroom if I'm up late using their tv for movies. He will be moved to the bathroom once I stop quarantine. They both go straight to sleep once they're covered and the CAG seems to wake up after 9 or 10 hours (7am is usually when she starts screaming her head off making smoke alarm noises, joy. I can hear her from three rooms away, two closed doors and earplugs.) and U2 after 12-13 (he's still a baby and is usually asleep by 7:30/8pm on top of his cage before I even go to put him to bed). I really like the plastic crate setup I did for the U2 I might try it with my CAG. Simple, stackable, easy to clean. Not 'too proof if he wanted to spend the night chewing on the plastic holes but for now it seems to work since he conks out.
