13 week old B&G Macaw

Hey guys I have a question I recently noticed that my new babies beak is starting to curve I took him to the vet this morning and she said there's a 50/50 chance it will straighten on it's own if it does not what is a prognosis??
She did not tell me that, no matter what he is part of our family now.I just wonder if he'll have trouble eatting if the beak if it keeps the curve Oh by the way he's name is Calypso

Sorry I'm not understanding 100%...is the beak curving downward more than it should or curving to the side? It's tough to tell in the pic.
He's absolutely adorable though! :D

Talking

Hannahs beak curves to the left a bit but it should correct itself in time, at least that is what my vet told me, and if it doesn't then she should be ok either way, from the pics it looks worse off than it is, but when she closes her beak she still bites squarely down and has no problems, to me it adds character I kinda like the crooked beak look, and besides Hannah will eat regardless of the shape of her beak, there is no worry there............. hope this helps-

Are you feeding from his left side? If so you might want to switch sides (I know, *NOT* recommended) or feeding him from the center of his beak instead. Handfeeding may cause bruising of the beak which can lead to abnormal growth. It *CAN* be surgically fixed, but it's *NOT* a pretty site.

With that said, birds can and do learn to eat even with beak deformaties. If it doesn't straighten out, and you don't get it surgically fixed, then his beak may just need some extra care to keep it in shape. It does look rather minor though.
