Finally got them to eat GREENS!!!

After 3 months of trying, today I finally succeeded in getting some green into them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh gosh! I guess this is equivalent to "baby taking first step!"

lol

I have chopped, skewered, baked, shredded to no avail! They remained head strong seed junkies!

Today, I again dragged their cage outdoors, and went around my yard, trying to remember, if it was apple or cherry branches that could be toxic etc.

I finally got some good nice little pieces of branches, a spray of millet, and some "greens" from my garden and just hung them from the top of the cage.

Believe it or not, my FIDS really only eat millet as a "bed time" snack, so they switched from stripping the tree branches, taking little bites of millet, playing with their toys....and EATING THE VEGGIES!!!!!

I'm so PROUD! I can't wait till summer when the garden is in full bloom, and I can just throw a bunch of fresh greens on top of their cage for them to "forage!"

Can't you see how excited I am?! lol I'm so silly!

There ya go! Apparently, it was the atmosphere (LOL). By the way, apple is fine, cherry is toxic but neither can be sprayed.

Congrats!! I, too, know how you feel! I have been trying to get Mango to eat veggies for so long and just recently he has begun trying them!! Although, I don't know if he actually eats them or just carries them around because I find them in different parts of the cage...but oh well, it's a start!!
