Just spend as much time around them as you can manage. It will happen.

On the day that I got Archer, he had nipped 2 other customers who held him, but he was so very sweet to me. He let me scratch him, and he cuddled up to my face. I knew there was no way I could leave him there. He even behaved when my s/o held him. He knew who he had to suck up to.

On a side note, are you going to get your GC sexed when you get him/her? I wanted to know for sure what my babies were (and I was right, both times!). It's just a thought. :)
