Oh no! I've caught the grey bug!
I have fallen in love with african greys! I saw my first one today and I was crushed! I want one so bad! There is no way I will have the money for one, so what'a say we do a fund raiser for me???? LOL I know that wont happen, but if you know any cheap CHEAP breeders or ways to get one, please let me know, I love them!!!!

Look at ads, classifieds, rescues, animal organizations, etc. There was one grey that was being sold for $50 with cage (must been small cage and bird in bad health, however, if it really was a grey). I'm sure that you could even geta large cage off of ebay or from the adds for a good price.

Basically, a freecycle, if you don't know, is a group of people in a specific location that recycle mostly used items (i.e. one mans trash is another mans treasure). It's completely free, though before you might be able to post a WANTED add, you would most likely had to post a OFFER type ad (atleast that's how it is with the one that I belong to, though I haven't offered or picked anything up, my mother has gotten a spice racket).

I totally know how you feel. I caught the Greybug many years ago. It was cured briefly a few years back, but the "bug" is in full effect now. but until I move, I'm just going to have to deal with the bug b/c my landlord won't let me have a bird (go figure, he let's me have a 120 lb. dog, but no bird).

There's a CAG at Petco in Bakersfield CA (on Rosedale Ave) that I would love to bring home. S/he has aquired the undignified name of "Smudge".
I want to just pay for her/him, grab her/ him, and run home as fast as possible. Sadly, the price at over $1300. prevents me from doing that. Anyone in the Central Valley who can rescue this beautiful bird, please do. The Grey Bug is always with me, though I am not too sure Abbie wants an avian friend. Sad In CA, Linda
