I'd say you can't go wrong with a Quaker or a Cockatiel. I have both and I think they are both perfect and I love them. I don't know who has a Jardines on here.

I have to say my TAG & GCC are perfect for us!!! They have wonderful personalities even though they are very different. You need to weigh your lifestyle with the personality of the bird to find your perfect parrot! Good luck! Did I mention TAGs & GCC are perfect he he he! Not that I am bias or anything! he he he!!!

We have a 10 months old senegal and we think he is perfect. He is so entertaining and loves his cuddles (mostly with me). He isn't too loud but makes enough noise so that we know he is here. He is a big part of our family and we all love him to bits.

Green Cheek Conure, I have found them to be very playful and lovable birds. Somewhat on the small side, not as loud as a Sun or Jenday.
As far as the Jardine's, I would agree with the earlier posts in that perfection depends on what you are looking for. Although my B&G is loud sometimes, I love his gregarious and loving nature. My Meyers is quiet and can sit in my office with me while I work, and I can make phone calls without having to explain to everyone that I live with parrots. And Ozzie my Eclectus is just somewhere between the others, I can't explain my bond with him as well, but I can just see the intelligence in his eyes and he challenges me to keep life interesting for him. They are all perfect for me in their own way. Scott |

Hello P.C. 11.......I have four Jardines currently, had one other in the past and I agree with the others in this thread who say it depends on who you ask and on the particular individual bird & your dedication in bonding with it......I also agree that they are all "perfect in their own way"....One of my most lovable and special birds is a female Jardine (Kitty) who was about the most hyper, craziest, neurotic, fearful, screaming bird I ever had. It took me a whole yr. of dedicated interaction (when I used to have the time) to turn her around to become one of the two most lovable birds I currently keep. So that is just an example of how a not so perfect bird can be turned into one. Well, I still shouldn't actually say "perfect" as she, like all my birds have their moments, just like we humans do.......So in summation (IMO & IME) Jardines cannot be called "The Perfect Parrot" as no other species can.

Jardines
Jean Pattison writes for Bird Talk and makes them out to be the best thing since sliced bread, I disagree. I've known several breeders who like them but think few are actually decent pets. The ones I've handled are snippy even while they're being hand fed. One turned out nice however, but I wouldn't have wanted it for a pet. They've got beaks like a pair of vice grips as well. Appearance is very pleasing, I do like the way they look. Pit Bull like.
If GCC is Green Cheek Conure, what do you use for Gold Cap Conure? |
