Talking Bird board = bad influence?

My hubby thinks so anyway after looking through threads apon threads of play gyms I decided to make my own and stick it in the family room (which doesn’t get used by us). When he saw it he was pretty speechless lol. My werros Fidget and Tarnie who both came from places where they never saw a toy or fresh fruit or veg, let alone affection in there lives. They aren’t to sure what to do with it all yet. They both love using the tambourine as a see-saw . Rain got away a few days ago, I hear her every now and then so im still hoping she will come home :(

Anyway here some photos. All up I think I spent $20 on the whole thing.

I think you did a great job. And yes BB is a real Bad influance!! But its an education as well. BTW Fidget is absoulutely stunning with that Loooong crest, I love him. One thing I want to mention though (not to burst your bubble) Do your birds chew wood?? If they do you cannot leave them on that base and have to come up with a better base. That wood is stained and is toxic. It wont hurt them to walk on it but one bite is not good. I just want them to be safe esp when Duckies bigger beak gets a whittle at it,lol. Tell your hubby its Ok - be glad he doesnt have big birds yet. My hubby comes home to stuff stringing across the ceiling!!LOL!!!

Hehe thanks lori. Yeah Fidget is a looker, but don’t let it fool you, hell fake off your finger if he had the chance. Slowly getting better though.
Yep the base (BBQ) was a worry, but found out it had never been stained so I gave it a few coats of linseed oil to “freshen” it up, as I was grey a few days ago. They have no interest in chewing wood, only thing that they love is a scrunched up piece of newspaper.

i think he would hit the roof if i started to hang things from it

Wow, that's epic!
Great job.

Oh, is your IRN going to play on this when he/she older ^___^?
If Ducky is, can anyone here imagine the damage?
If IRN are as much chewers as Alex's are I think I vague idea.

Haha, I think I have some ideas for tomorrow suddenly...

Talking

Wow, that is a cool stand, but if the base had been stained then the base is toxic for the birds, may finding away to remove the dark wood stain in order to prevent any possible sad out comes. Very clever design.

I think that's a cute attempt, lol. The best thing about it is your birds don't even know weather it's bought at the store or hand made. They will still love you none the less.
