I have a pair of Orange weaver finches in with mine now and Had them with a pair of Splendids (scarlet chested parakeets) Come warm day they will all be in an avairy together. Two Bourkes, two splendids, pair of weavers, pair of Paradise Whydahs and One canary. I plan to add two pairs of waxbills and a Pair of Gouldians eventually. But some of these birds wont do in close quarters and I separate them into small groupings in winter when they come inside. IE: The Paradise Whydah and the Weaver males dont get along in smaller cage.
Your Bourkes will care less about most anything - its your finches you have to watch out for.
Your should also look into a pair of Splendid Parakeets - they are beautiful and quiet as well!!
I hear the Gouldians can be more aggressive but then I hear weavers are worse and my weaver is doing fine as long as he has his mate to keep him busy. I am looking for another female weaver for him as well.
