Where does your bird hang out?

Do you have a playtop cage? Does your bird actually use it, or do you have a tree(s) or playstand?

I only have one playtop cage and none of the birds ever actually liked playing on it. I have 3 bottlebrush gyms (Wayne's), a lot of boings, swings and monkey vines and ropes and a big playroom and an aviary. I also have 2 large PVC stands. One is in the aviary and I hang toys all over it.

My budgies don't have a built-in play stand on their cage, but they have one that I create that changes every time I clean their cages. There's usually a toy or two up there, a clip to hold treats, a ladder and a perch leading to the top of their second cage, and their bath tub. On the side of their cages there are a couple of mirrors and a clock radio. They frequently play on the top and side of their cages as they are free to enter and exit their cages as they please (doors are always open...except at night).

When they come to my desk to hang out while I work/play on the pc, they have a little wicker basket that I outfitted with a little ladder, a couple of toys, and woodchips in the bottom for chewing. There are also a few loose toys on my desk, a mirror, and a little hampster bowl filled with seeds.

Nah...they're not spoiled.

Furniture (when we are sitting on it and can monitor them), boings, tree play gym, shoulders and sometimes the top of their cages.

My Macaws hang out on the floor. They have their own playspots which have foot toys, pieces of wood to chew and some Fisher Price baby toys.
I have hanging trees stands and another Manzanita tree but they get so bored within a few minutes on them..
Oh and they also love hanging out on me too...

Noel and Casey live on an extra large gym, though both love to hang out on our apple tree. Casey enjoys wondering my room and hanging out with the smaller birds, waking me up, hanging out with me demanding scritches, or up on my stuffed animal collection.

The smaller birds are in flight cages though enjoy going outside in smaller cages.

Bosco, my TAG, has a playtop cage....although it only came with the 2 ladders that go up the sides and attach to a manzanite perch with two lg. plastic bowls for water & treats....that was the extent of it... I removed the two bowls and use the holders to hang hanging toys from.On the floor of his play yard I keep a half coconut shell that I put treats in such as peanuts, cheerios, soybeans or whatever his new faorite (dry) snack is, a water bowl and a bowl for his fresh food such as fresh veggies, veggie & pasta mix etc...mostly moist stuff vs the dry in the coconut. He also has 5-5 foot toys of various sizes and one "musical" toy...baby toys that make sounds. Right now his favorite is a baby phone that has buttons like our remote control (which he loves to try to eat)...when he grabs a button it says "hello, good~bye, hola, adios" or plays a little tune. Bosco LOVES his play yard!

Shamrock's cage did not come with a play top...however, he LOVES playing all over his cage! He uses the whole thing like a big play yard! I built a small play yard for him on top with some ladders that can be connected together and added to. I also keep a treat saucer up there with various snacks...he climbs ALL over so I don't need water up there for him...he goes inside his cage. Inside his cage he has his own "swimming pool" which is his favorite pass time!

I have one dome top cage and one playtop cage for my b/g's. When they are out of their cages they play on top of their cages and we have a pvc hanging perch that they use as a bridge between the 2 cages. I removed the tray under the playtop area for easier clean up. Our amazon has a playtop. She enjoys hanging on. Seymour(E'too) does not feel safe out of his cage for very long, but will occasionally perch on the door when it is left open. Angel(CAG) will play anywhere you put her. On the top of her dometop cage, on pvc stands, out in the aviary, and on or in her sleep cage. Each of my birds has a different place that they like to be. They all seem to enjoy their time in the aviary outside.

For my lovebird, he has a large two story playgym with a ladder, swing, whole bunch of perches and toys. He also plays with a little foot toy (that was originally for my grey but he decided it was his) and likes to fly around and find other small things to play with (with supervision of course). Sometimes he will run around on top of his cage while I clean, change food/water, etc. For my grey, I have a a two story hanging java playstand which has a lil cup for food, treats, and/or foot toys and pieces of wood and sisal for him to chew. Also, he has a t-stand which I use if I am in another room (other than the 1 where the gym is) and for training. I ussually let him chase me around on the floor and/or climb the stairs for a little excercise everday too.
