Try presenting food in different ways. Like your cutting into toothpick sized slivers. Try carrot. That is what my 'tiel first ate.
She would NEVER eat vegies out of a bowl. By experimenting with different ways of presenting her food, I learned that she likes to eat her vegies if they are hung from the roof. I put whole carrots or chunks of zucchini and spinach in one of those cone-shaped millet holders and she goes nuts for it. There are also stainless steel fruit kababs which you can stick fruit onto and hang and it is easy to clean. This is just what has worked for my picky little darling. Good Luck!

Andie, GREAT ideas thanks. I notice that if I'm eating it they're interested, if I offer by hand it's poison, if it's in the dish it a crap shoot. I like the millet hanger idea and hanging from the roof. I'll give them a try.
