Should I bring my Budgie outside?

Is it a good thing to bring my Budgie outside in his cage when it is warm? Or will and can he catch something?

If you keep a close eye on him and make sure that he cannot get out of the cage, and that there is nothing outside threatening him, then it would be fine. Use caution and common sense.

In warm weather my budgie goes outside every other day. Our avain vet said the sunshine helps them get the proper Vit. D and in general is just good for their health.

Make sure at least a portion of the cage has some shade, so it can get out of the sun if it is hot. If in full sun, leave it out no more than 10 minutes. This is what the vet said.

Coby loves it -- he mimics the bird sounds and also talks back to them (in people talk!) :icon_smil

Randy, I take Rico out all the time. He loves it. Be careful of other birds too. When I take Rico out and the more I take him out, I've noticed other birds getting too close to him. They almost dive bomb us sometimes. As long as your close to the cage the wild birds won't come too close. Have fun, your little birdie is going to love it.
