Macaw sighting

A never before seen macaw, the snowy macaw, ara nivosus was spotted today in central virginia.

Actually, that's just max, our blue and gold. His first time really seeing snow, we decided to take him out for a minute. As soon as he was outside, he leaned forward, pinpointed his eyes and said "hello" (the universal response to anything new or different)

He did quite well, considering he gets upset if he gets splashed with water from one of our other birds taking a bath.

Aww! He looks so pretty in the snow. I myself am loving the white stuff myself. I think we are long over due.

LOL! thankfully, that hasn't been a problem! although the little orange instigator will occasionally start a screaming match, they don't last long.

He looks so handsome! Especially against the white snow.
