Question Hey can any of you help me fix this? lol

okay so the story is that: about a week ago we went to portugal for vacation and Petrie stayed at a friends house that has macaws. well lets say that one of her macaws got into petries cage (he wasnt in there she was playing with him) and he ended up exploring petries perch. dont worry we have another one of these for him but i would like to fix it or modiffy it in a way that i can use it. they are pretty expensive here where i live and id like to make some use out of it.Any ideas. thank you so much.

Hate to say it but the perch has had it. With the threads being so exposed their is a greater risk now of Petrie chewing and ingesting them. That just spells bad news with potential blockages. Unfortunately it's now a safety issue.

This eBay seller offers cheap rope perches and boings and ships very, very, very, very fast.

eBay Store: Search results for A Bird Toy.

Make it into a birdy bush....

cut it in half blunt the wire w/ bead or block of wood.. Tie a knot. done.

OR cut off the rope & salvage the "hardware" and remake the whole thing with Sisal or Superior cotton rope! You can use super glue or hot glue (far away from fid) to glue the ends of the new rope inside the end pieces.

I like your vet wrap idea, but if u did that I think it would be a strictly "OUT of cage" perch.

I would probably save the rope to make something else too.... nets.... toys.... another shorter perch..... hmmm....

I'm very cautious with rope toys. I'd hate to say that yeah it's fine and then hear down the track that something has happened to Petrie.

Now, the idea of cutting, vet wrapping and then hot gluing back into one of the plastic cage connector thingys (so technical ), that would work. Just make sure that there isn't any loose ends.

With rope stuff there's rope that comes off in strands (not good) and rope that fluffs off (not so bad). Just see what happens when you pull at the strands.
