What is the best bird to get?

What is the quietest, most cuddly kind of bird you can possibly get that will fit in a medium sized cage?

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

I'm kind of confused by your question. No parrot is going to be "cuddly". Dogs and cats can be cuddly, but not birds.

I would say a green cheek, they offer many different variations/mutations, and mine is very cuddly! I have a crimson bellied conure and a yellow sided green cheek coming as well from these wonderful people..

parrots for sale in arizona, Pionus for sale. Eclectus, african grey, Gouldian finch for sale,* African Grey, Eclectus, baby parrot

check them out, lots of good info as well!

I was actually looking at their site the other day and really want to get a bird from them at some point. Ideally, I'd like to get a blue head pi, but I can't tell by their website if they offer them or not. There is a page about them, but they aren't listed on their price list. *shrugs* Oh well, I'm not planning on getting one for at least another year and half though, so no biggie.

Cockatiels are about as cuddly as they come--the females at least. What is your defination of a medium sized cage? A lot of cages on the market that are labeled for specific species are often times too small to house them comfortably.

My vote is on a sun conure. Mine is the most cuddliest of all my birds. He will cuddle down in my shirt or curl up under my neck when I am on the computer or if I am taking a nap he actually gets under the covers and just sleeps with me. Now in my opinion that IS cuddly. I have had him since hatch day and visited with him everyday so maybe that is part of it, but whatever it is he likes to snuggle.

I think the best chance to get a bird that likes people would be in choosing a hand FED, young bird. Preferably from a breeder that only has a few babies at a time & spends loads of time w/ them.

Cockatiels are known for being sweet... Me and Holly seemed to connect w/ each other in the store, as soon as we met I knew we would get along. So far so good too.

but even the most untame bird can become friendlier if given enough patience, love, and respect.
