Birth and problem

My dove egg hatched on May 16,2005, yesterday. I'm so happy. Now the other one just has to hatch.

I problem, not about newborn rn neck dove, Snowy, bird that had a dislocated leg, he has relapsed now his leg is black and blue and you scan see veins? I took him to a vet a few ekks back they siad leg was dislocated they gave him a shot incase of infection. He was fully better until this week when he relapsed. I don't know why he mom must have her him preety bad a while back when she dislocate dhis leg.

Back to the vet you go ... sounds like a splint or something maybe needed.

I haven't a clue what your bird's problem is, but if its splayed legs, then you need to splint them and KEEP them splinted for about a month. Your vet can do that. They actually use a sponge, gauze and tape to tape one leg to the other. Splayed legs are when the leg is horizontal instead of vertical. It juts out to the side. It can often be corrected in very young birds, but the longer you wait, the less likely it will work. Usually, splayed leg is a result of parents sitting too hard on the nest.

They will not pay for the entire vet bill, though if you are accepted for help, if you may need any, they may be able to help pay off the vet bills so that you can get your bird better.

Thanks his mother attacke dhim when he was less then a month i hand fed him but now he eats on his own. But know his leg is messed up agin after it being all better he is in his own seperate cage.

Definitely take him back to the vet. If you don't adress the problem now, he will probably be suffering with the consequences for his entire life.

Ok guys his leg cleared up afe days ago he just wasn't exercising it i put his perches higher so he hasto exercise to reach em he will be 2 months on 28th. He is doing fine. 1 of my dove eggs hatched on 16th it's a boy and secon on 17 it's agirl or a runt LOL. Male name is Frost female Aurora.
