I heard about a funraiser for SAF on the news that is taking place in Sparks (don't remember the date and time however... it was on the news and had said something about raising money for an animal fun, I remembered the name of the fundraiser so checked it out quickly before I took off to school...) Here is a bit of information:

The Shakespeare Animal Fund (SAF) was founded after chairperson Jennifer Webb lost her beloved Cocker Spaniel, Shakespeare, after a very costly illness. In his memory she established this fund to help others who might face financial problems while trying to save their pet.

Anyone can apply for funds, but SAF offers assistance primarily to those on fixed incomes or with annual incomes below $35,000. Exceptions are made depending on circumstances. It is always a one-time grant. All monies are paid directly to the veterinarians, and are usually between $75 -$150.
