I met my first (white bellied) Caique a few months ago... active little buggars!! And expensive. I fell in love immeadiatly. Hubby immeadiatly looked at the over 1k price tag and said no. lol

Hubby made the mistake of putting his hand down in the middle of 6 (already perching) babies. I hear.... Dana... Dana... come help please! I had to pick each of those 6 birds off of various parts of him! Not a one would step up and they all wanted to stay! (Hubby won't "grab" a bird.... he's new to the bird world in the last three years, and just isn't that comfortable, and doesn't want to hurt them. He's also never had a small bird.)

Congrats on your baby! What a joyous little hand full!

This little guy was ready to rumble from day one with me. I always put small stuffed animals in with babies that don't have clutch mates to give them something to snuggle. The first time I went to feed him at home, he had climbed up on top of the stuffed animal and was trying to get out of the container. I was shocked, I had never had a baby his age be that strong and mobile. As you say, they are active little buggers. Thats what I like about them.

What a cute little thing. I'm sure you'll have fun with this bird. Someone I know has a caique that loves to hair surf, it's the funniest thing to watch.

What a beauty! I recently met my first caique and fell hopelessly, thunderstruck in love. He's about a year old and living in a petshop, for sale. I visit and play with him all the time. The staff keep asking when I'm going to buy him. I answer, "When I win the lottery, I'll be right over." (I mean it, too). They want 850 pounds for him - that's about 1700 dollars! His two clutchmates got sold.

I have never seen a caique in real life but your picture is gorgeous. Like everyone else I want one too.

CONGRATULATIONS

Gorgeous! I love Caiques! There were 2 at a local petstore and I must confess that I went there just to play with them. Very precocious little buggers!:)
