Parrot Talking Training Systems??? Do they work?

Hey I know green cheeks aren't the best talkers and some may never talk, but I'm not ready to give up on Ducky's ability for it yet. She just turned 2, I've had her since she was 3 months and I talk to her all the time, give her lots of attention, and speak to her consistenly in context (hello, good morning, goodnight, goodbuy, etc...) I know she knows the meaning of many words, because she responds appropriately and she knows a lot of tricks with verbal cues. However, she never seems to even attempt saying any words or sounds....Except I have learned to mimic some of her bird sounds and so if I do that she will do it back to me. Anyway, I was hoping to get some advice on if any one has green cheeks that talk, or any birds that started talking after 2 years old. I especially want to get to the bottem of this birdtricks.com business, is it a scam? It seems like a really big scam but at the same time they make such great claims about their training systems that I still want to try it. I just find it odd that you can't download them, or get them used on e-bay or anything so is anyone actually using thsi stuff? And does it actually work? The specific package I'm talking about her is their talking videos where they use real parrots and they say your bird will speak in context pretty much right away, and you can get your money back if it doesn't work. So it sounds too good to be true right? Have any of you tried it, or any of their videos so at least I know it's not some weird scam. Thanks...sorry this is such a long post

Does sound too good to be true. I wouldn't waste my money, but if you decide to buy it, let us know if your bird starts talking!

Some birds just don't talk and I'm not meaning the labelling of individual species as good or not good good potential talkers but the individual bird. Example, I have one lorikeet who talks up a storm whilst the other doesn't say a thing. Just screams at his toys. Interestingly it's the female of the pair that talks.

My personal experience is that birds will talk when and if they're ready. I haven't trained any of mine per se, just chatting with them in general conversation. Hello when I great them, what are you doing, who's gorgeous etc. I also tell them what I'm doing so now the grey will yell out lights on when he decides it's time for the light in the bird room to come on. I have 9 birds that talk at varying degrees of ability. 10 I guess if you include one of the GCCs who does a very quiet swish swish hello that isn't very clear but is still speech mimicry.

Just keep up chatting to your guy, and eventually something may well happen.
