My conures love to make soup too. Luckily they will drink from the water bottle and use their bowls for baths or dunking.

My sun conure soaks his pellets! Sometimes he tries to soak sunflower seeds too, I often find them floating in his water bowl.

Yep! You have what I call a "dunker". Both of my boys are dunkers, especially Elliot. His water bowl is a mess everyday when I get home from work... and not only does he dunk food, but his toys as well. LOL

Charlie likes dunking apples... I haven't actually noticed him dunking anything else, however, he'll take the apples from the "Garden Goodness" (leaves the peppers alone completely) and dunk them. Then he "sucks" on them for a while, maybe even redunks them, and then he *might* eat one.

I've found pellets in his water as well, but I usually take those as random flung food as they do not appear in the water bowl as frequently as the soaked apples!

My conures take the pellets and drop them in the water dish. Then they fish them out, and if they are not dunked just right, they fling them at me and yell at me in bird talk. I hate to think what they are saying, lol.

Our Ralph is a dunker of everything, also. I started adding a touch of water to his pellets. He still dunks some (he doesn't seem to like the green and yellow ones very much. He doesn't care that they taste the same!) but has slacked off a bit. :)

My birdies make the soup also. I switched them over to water bottles. They still have the bowls on their playstands to make soup with.

PBJ is the only dunker in the crew and she dunks everything including the big ball she plays with and then there is water everywhere.

I give "real" apples... Not dehydrated - so there is no dunking involved.

Of course she "dunks" anything that is not processed (pellets and raisins are two items that come to mind)... But I suspect that is pretty normal... According to what I've read parrot would usually receive all the water they need from their regular diet (drinking water is unusual). So to receive their needed water intake "dunking" would be needed...

Yep, my 2 CAG's are what I call 'dunkers'. They do their food just like dunking a donut. The water may look 'icky' but that is what they enjoy. I clean their water bowls and provide fresh daily and, it is all good.
