Microchipping

Curious how much folks have paid for micro-chipping. I'm getting a really wide range of quotes and am interested as to what others pay - obviously knowing there are going to be geographic differences.

I checked into it awhile back, and it was $85 a bird. It's not like microchipping cats and dogs--my vet actually puts the birds under for the procedure, which is why it costs so much more.

My vet charges $50 for both the chip and they register everything for you. If you just want the chip, it's $35, but you still have to register it yourself and pay a fee of something like $18 to the registration company. He doesn't put them under though. All 3 of my macaws and my Amazon are chipped, and they had no problems with it.
