Hey folks in the mid-Atlantic area! Irene Pepperberg (author of "Alex & Me") will be speaking at an event in Landsdowne, Va, on April 4th.

Talk with Irene about her life with Alex the African Grey, who died last
year, and where she goes from here. Celebrated for her work in science
regarding the intelligence of parrots, Dr. Pepperberg continues her very
important work with other parrots in her lab at Brandeis University. She
might even show us first-hand how she trains birds in the lab by working
with Pepper, Leigh Ann Hartsfield’s very talented African Grey.

Bummer about the timing. And they're not really so close that you could go to one event in the morning and just hop over to the other that easily. Still hope to get some good attendance at the Pepperberg thing from anyone in the DC area, at least
