In our search for a "fid" for our family we have come across hand fed and weaned babies and also older birds, from 6-7 months to 3-4 years old. I understand the benefits of getting a weaned baby, but if you find an older bird that is compatible, is it just as good to bring that bird into our family? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, would it depend upon the species? Thanks!

As loyallyroyal said it is important that you click with the bird. In my opinion it is just as important that the bird clicks with you. This will really help with the transition if you get an older, or even young, bird.
