Question Young baby versus older bird that is well socialized?

In our search for a "fid" for our family we have come across hand fed and weaned babies and also older birds, from 6-7 months to 3-4 years old. I understand the benefits of getting a weaned baby, but if you find an older bird that is compatible, is it just as good to bring that bird into our family? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, would it depend upon the species? Thanks!

I think its more of which bird you click with, any of them could make a great pet. So truly I think its the individual bird.

As loyallyroyal said it is important that you click with the bird. In my opinion it is just as important that the bird clicks with you. This will really help with the transition if you get an older, or even young, bird.

I have to agree with the others. If you and a bird click, age isn't a big factor. I would say that it is more of an individual bird thing rather than a species characteristic.
