Never heard of Michael Patrick Cox or his petition either. What's that about?

I don't know anything about his techniques either, but the word whisperer seems to be a code name for domination and flooding. Ken Globus did a lot of flooding. It's NOT a good way to treat a bird or any other creature.

The Ken Globus vid was kinda funny:

......"we're gonna see how close I can get without Maynard freaking".....(then a bunch of edits)........"40 minutes later an amazing sight."

What happened during that 40 minutes that they didn't want to show it? Why did they edit everything out?

Its unfortunate that 'whisperer' has connotations with such methods, as 'whispering' was originally a horse term, used long ago. The 'true' horse whisperer I trained under for a months time one summer, and if he saw such methods being employed on any animal, he would be appalled. The term whispering actually came about from when old time true natural technique trainers were seen whispering into the ears of their animals, offering words of comfort to soothe the often fear crazed animals.. soon because the horses were not 'broken' but rather 'trained' they would calm and people would accuse the training of using methods of drugging to calm the animal..

Sorry just always gets on my nerves to hear the term whisperer mistreated, as I've seen so much good come from the whisperer and his horse.

Cool :) Some people call me a bird whisperer hehehe! I want to go to my bf's friends house and try and tame his Corella- they say he bites, but I think he just needs to be shown some attention (some TLC!), as the family doesn't know much about parrots.
I always thought of animal whispering as basically talking to the animal - letting it know you're there to communicate, then to proceed in communicating; which just happens to include being able to ask the animal to do what you want on cue ;) It's a relationship built on trust and understanding.
