Yall know how I have been wanting a....

double yellow headed amazon reeeealllll bad? Well my mom got one yesterday and he is BEAUTIFUL. I guess that is the next best thing to me having one (I have my max amount of birds) He was larger than I thought they were and probably in my opinion one of the prettiest birds ever. I cant wait to go and see him again.

Awesome! You get to enjoy the birdie and spoil him, but you can leave when he gets messy or loud

That's a nice set up! After I bought a cockatoo and adopted a second one, I found out I was very allergic. My mom had fallen in love with them. When we discovered that I couldn't live with them, she took them. She refused to let me rehome them. I miss them but I still buy/make toys for them, make their food, etc. I visit them but I pay dearly afterward. Since she lives in the country, they get to have outdoor aviaries in the warm weather and can scream their heads off without a worry. I get to know they are loved and cared for without killing myself in the process.

It sounds kind of like the perks to being a grandparent.

Matt...exactly or that special "aunt" like I am to my best friends kids. Neither of us have any sisters, so her kids know me as Aunt Lainey. I can love them to death but when the temper tantrums start, I can also be right out the door

And Becca, that's great that your mother was able and willing to take in the toos!

If the Amazon is your mom's baby wouldn't that make you siblings? It's really great that you will get to enjoy the Amazon because it's now part of the family but I think it's also really neat that you and you mom get to share your love of birds this way.

Wow, what a great idea. I have pretty much reached my max limit of birds, so if only I could get my parents/best friend/aunt/godmother as interested in parrots as me I could talk them into buying all the types of birds that I don't have that I want and go visit them all the time!!!
