Rico photos and rambling

Hi. I just wanted to share some photos of Rico. I wish he would hurry up and molt already....he just looks so shabby still. But, I love the little stubborn bugger. :0) I feel like I am constantly obsessing about if he is bored, stimulated enough, has enough to do, has a good enough diet, etc. Anyone else this obsessive?

I was when I was new to birds bigger then a Budgie but now not so much.
However this time of the year I am always worry with them more then any other time. It is spring and worrying with them helps keep me from getting more.
Not sure but every spring I want more pets. Guess Im nesting. lol
Is there any room in that cage for the bird? None of mine have that many toys in their cage. lol They do have that many but I just rotate every week or two so they don't feel over whelmed.
Great looking bird even if he is molting.

He is a handsome fella! I also over pack my birds' cages with toys hoping that they are fulfilled while I am at work. I like what you have done with the seagrass mat, what a great idea for foraging!

I think we all obsess about our birds, so you are no more abnormal than normal.

He is very handsome. Not too shabby at all!

When Bing started his feather destruction the avian vet told me to bombard his cage with toys so that he had to move them around to move around. It was an effort to get him to concentrate on his toys, especially the shreddable ones, with the hope he'd leave himself alone. I'm not sure he has but he sure has a lot more toys now.

Thanks everyone! I agree that he is quite handsome. Most of his toys are actually on the outside of his cage. There are not too many inside to make sure he has a place to spread his wings and relax. I do over-do it a bit, though. The basket on top of his cage is full of toys....

His feathers are showing some signs of improvement, he is a cutie! And don't worry about the obsessing part. I find myself doing this for a while whenever a new bird comes home. Over time, once you learn his body language and his personality, it will not be as bad and you will be more comfortable in knowing whether or not he is happy. Hope that helps!!!

I'm the same way. Every spring I want to add to my family. Glad to know I'm not the only one!
