The finches have come home! Now for a name....

They're here! They're here! They're finally here!

Sunday, I picked up two little zebra finches. I thought I was going to be given societies, but I ended up with Zebra's instead with a promise of a couple of societies from a nest full of naked babies (once they grow up of course). Naked baby finches are sooooo cute btw, if you've never seen them!

Anyway... see the pics! Now I need names!!

Top in the running:

Tony & Cleo (mark anthony and cleopatra)
Ellen & Clark (from NL Vacation)

Liked, but discarded for various reasons:
Donald & Daisy
Mickey & Minnie
Fred & Ethel
Ozzie & Harriet
Pebbles & Bam Bam
Sonny & Cher
Nemo & Dory
Ben & Jen
Knick & Knack Donald & Daisy
Fred & Wilma
Homer & Marge
Cliff & Claire
Dagwood & Blondie
Elvis & Priscilla
Roy & Dale
Chuck & Diana
Ward & June
Ike & Mamie
Solo & leia
Donny & Marie
Lucy & Desi
Barbie & Ken

Any suggestions?

seems like you've done the heavy lifting already ... I vote Tony & Cleo, or Salt & Peppa.

How about just Mr. and Mrs. Zeb.

I have about 10 pairs of Zebra finches, I don't name them, because I can't tell them apart!

These guys are sooo cool. I haven't had finches since I was about 8 yrs old. I brought them home yesterday and my Dad, who was having a bad day sight-wise (had a stroke last year, can't see to the left, patchy vision otherwise, good days and bad) he seemed to perk up. He said, I can't see them but I hear squeeking and beeping!!

I love their voices, and these two are pretty vocal. They were flying around and talking this morning as I delivered some finely chopped romain lettuce, apples, peas , and pasta. I hope they try some of it, but I'm sooooo not used to cutting things up that small. It's easy because my big gals get fresh stuff everyday, so I guess I'll just keep trying. The ppl that gave them to me did say they like lettuce and cucumber.... I've also given them millet, seed and pellets.

They are soooooooooo small. When I transferred them from their travel cage to their new home cage, I was messing with some stuff, adding a cuttle bone and such, and the male kept landing on my arm. They're pretty friendly, but they are so small that I barely felt it on my arm.

All Tiki had to say was.... "oooOOOOOOoooooooohhh" - Her "I want some/that" noise! lol. BIG EYES and she jumped a little when they would fly...

Had some rabbits when I was little named Salt and Pepper..... one with a white nose, one with a black. I miss them, so probably have to decline this one :-{

Top names are still Tony and Cleo... also, mom just recommended Micro and Softie... that is now in the running. My hubby and I are both computer nerds :aiwebs_02

Careful with them outside. A small corn snake or similar can go right thru 1/2 in. wiring and suck them right down, I know, happened to me........Only takes a minute too........Congrats though on getting them... :)
