Birds of a Feather Quilt

They drew the winning ticket for their 2004 Birds of a Feather Quilt. It is very much like the AIDS quilt in that every single bird on the quilt has succumbed to PDD. I'm telling you, when you cast your eyes on that quilt, it will hit you right in the gut. EVERY BIRD THERE WAS SOMEONES BELOVED PET. And, Rainbow, our own tragic casualty was also on it. I'm tearing up now just thinking about it.

They will do another quilt this year. Its sad that there will always BE a next time until this disease is destroyed. Here is a photo of the actual quilt that was raffled off

That is beautiful, Nancy. Thanks for sharing that with us. You're right, it does hit right in the gut.

i had tickets for the quilt. Kind of glad I did not win though. Even the quilt on the site made me teary eyed. I am sure that is something I would have to fold in a box because it would make me sad every time I looked at it.

Lyn:

I know what you mean. I also had tickets and knew I couldn't BEAR to look at it just knowing the pain and suffering if represented. However, it was beautifully and lovingly done. Its a shame it even HAS to exist.
