is the bar spacing too big?
I bought this cage that I couldn't pass up on for my bird in the near future. It will be a sun conure (yes I know they are loud). After I got the cage home I realized the bar spacing was .9inchs after I measured it. Do I have to seriously be worried about the bar spacing for my bird? Is there any way to fix it if I do have to worry? thanks for any replys

Yes, you have to be worried IF the bar spacing is too big. Your bird could stick his head through, get caught, and strangle. If you have cats, they can reach through bars that widely spaced and kill your bird. Your bird could easily catch a wing in those spaces and could get hurt.
It depends on how much work you want to put into fixing it. You'd have to overlay it with chicken wire or something, and by then you might as well build a cage from scratch because you'd get better results. |
