My First DIY Toy

We'll see how it goes when Dante (my male CAG) road tests it. Right now he's still trying to figure out if it's friendly or not. I'm hoping he'll be happy to have something to do now when he hangs out with me besides chew on my glasses. I'll hang some more toys on it; for now I just want Dante to get used to it being in the living room.

Looks great. I'd like to have some hanging gyms like that. Um, nothing will replace those glasses. :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one whose glasses gets chewed up. My quaker sits quietly on my shoulder, snuggling, cuddling, kissing.....until I take my glasses off and twirl them....then she attacks them!!!

Thanks everybody. At the moment, I'm still waiting for him to dare to step on it. He's like that with everything though. It takes him a few weeks to get used to something new, especially something that big.

Looks great. I made this for a smaller bird. It's a swinging foraging tray, very similar to that one only for a tiny bird. It's hanging on my PVC stand I made. I love toy making and though I don't have a bird ATM, I make them regularly. Too much fun.

Wink

Oh, eventually your grey will love it! I made this one oh, I'd say maybe a year ago, and it's still a fav...

Once he realizes it's not a grey eating demon, it'll be his favorite place to hang out, I'm sure!

Very cool hanging gyms. I won't have bird one that will get on one. I was hoping the new too Sydni would like sitting on a play gym cause I have a nice large floor model but nope a no go with her too.

Very, very cool.

I found out tonight that my new baby Eclectus is ready to come home tomorrow. I put up the other two boings and I'll have to see how it goes. I want to attach rope perches to them so they can go around the living room. I'll see in a few days if I still feel like I'm living in the middle of a gymnastic training camp for parrots. Pictures attached (I have no idea why my lamps make the room look like it's on fire). Wear sunglasses when you look at these. My living room looks like the Sigfried and Roy parrot room.

OMG! If I disguise myself with feathers can I come live in that parrot gym?! LOL *jealous of your birds*

I guess my mom's lucky about the glasses thing. Our bird seems to think they're her beak or something and he just geeeeently preens them. :)
