peach faced lovebird BITING
I have an 8 week old, and recently it has started biting....it started off as nibling but now it bites. It was always nibbling around the cuticles and fingers, any advice on how to train it not 2 bite?

8 weeks is just a baby and s/he may be biting when s/he is hungry. Try giving her something to play with when biting to distract her. Birds need positive reinforcement so don't pull away, say no and give her a toy or something else like paper to chew on. When she starts to play with the toy or chew on something that is "ok" for her to chew on praise her and give treats. When she starts biting though, first you should see if she is hungry. My baby green cheek does that and I get his bowl of food and hold it for him to munch on, when he is done or if he is not interested I try a toy and play with him to keep him busy.
Hope this helps.

I agree 8 weeks is just a baby. Where did you purchase your bird? If it is biting hard I would wonder whether it is, in fact, 8 weeks old. My lovie babies aren't able to bite very hard at that age.
