That's nice, i red in BirdChannel.com that its ok to have some time for yourself, they are animals after all they are independent and will be fine with a little alone time, they are pretty tough.. knowing they can survive a Jungle and most of us wouldn't lol.

I bet your bird knew just from the fact that you *didn't* take him out that you weren't feeling well! Obviously he knows how much you love him and want to spend time with him! And I'll bet you looked really tired and sore, too. Pets are even better at noticing things like this than most humans are, I think!
Get better!!! I know how much not-fun it is to be that sore. =/ |

I do the same thing and my bath times have been cut dramatically since getting my first parrot not because I know they can't play independently but because I am a sucker and want to be with them, see what they're doing, interact, teach, learn, etc. Hope you're feeling less sore and not feeling guilty about a little you time!

Oh, my lovie is totally aware of my sleeping needs! I like to sleep in on the weekends end we keep his cage in our bedroom at night so he can go to bed earlier than we do. When his cover goes all the way down he starts to scream around 8:30 but if I don't pull it all the way down so he can peek out and see us sleeping he won't make a peep until we do.
