NOW they are in the house! Ellie hated it!

Well we were running a few days late and we officially got them back in the house last night! Teal of course wasn't phased and actually acted very happy!
Ellie pretty much what I though...she screamed and screamed. That was the first time she was back in the house since "the horrible morning". She only screamed when I wasn't around. So when sh stopped for a second I went in. We sang our favorite songs, at first she was petrified you could tell! clinging onto the side of her cage, NO dancing bobbing nothing! After a few songs she started to "loosen" up and bob a little and dance! Then I played the piano for her (she loves it when I play the piano), then she started to calm down, BUT only as long as I was in the room! Then I just talked to her for a little bit, actually whispered and foot rubs along with scritches! Then an I love you, and a "you are okay, the house is safe now" and out I went. she screamed not 1/4 as much as she did before all my "entertainment services" and then stopped. I thought I was going to have to sleep on the floor by her cage just so all could sleep and make her feel safe! But she settled down and went to sleep.

I can't imagine the fear that poor baby went through stuck in the dark smoked filled house ALONE, and the fear of that morning she will carry around for a while! I know that my stress and emotions reflect onto her, but there are still to this day times that I look at her and think to myself, "she should not be here, she shouldn't be alive...but you are here", then I cry (and I am soooo not a cryer ever, but with her she just pulls at my heart strings)!!!!

She is one remarkable little gift in my life! and as much as she bites me, etc I don't know what I would do without my little rock!

So exactly 2 month to the day since our house fire...we are all back in now!

Wow... glad you are all back home, safe and sound. Poor Ellie, there is just something about that girl, I just don't know. Ya just gotta love her!

Congrats on getting back in and best wishes!

just got off the phone with Hubby and he said she is quiet as a mouse and playing in her cage doing circles (her favorite thing to do) top of the cage to the side to a perch and back to the top! Crest up and dancing! I would say she is pretty much getting over it quickly!

Now Teal on the other hand I couldn't hear hubby too well because he was screaming because daddy didn't let him out of his cage! LOL

"entertainment services" <-- haha

I am so glad she is okay .. That must have been so scary for her (and you!)
Sounds like she is happy to be home again.

Glad to hear that ya'll are back in the house! I'm surprised that Ellie only screamed for one night. Your 'entertainment services' must be wonderful! This must be a tough transition for everyone...Good Luck!!
