Just some new pictures of my guys.
Here are a couple of new pictures of Bing. He has discovered that a curtain rod makes a good perch. I have to find a way to keep him down from there.
![]() ![]() For those of you following his saga, notice that he has a couple of new tail feathers. How long he leaves them there is a mystery but I am excited to see them. I think Dave is about due for a molt. His chest feathers are getting a bit ratty but he's still confident he is a handsome guy.

Aww they are both so handsome! Bing's fluffiness reminds me so much of LB, she was a little fuzzball too. Not sure I can adjust to having feathered parrots now. :D Glad to see Bing showing some tail feathers though!

Tom, they look great! What are you doing differently re Bing's feathers? It's very exciting to see tail feathers, fingers crossed that he keeps them! Bing is of course, handsome as ever and you are right, he is aware of the fact!

I am using 'Pluck No More'. I do inundate him with shreddable toys, make him shower every day (with an after spray of 'Pluck No More') and try make him forage a little for his food (slowly forcing him into it). These are all suggestions from the Vet. I still find chewed feather remnants from time to time on the floor and he has already made some of his new back and wing feathers a little ratty so I have no idea if he will allow new stuff to come in but he does look better than he did. I am also going to allow his wing feathers to grow in. Now it's just hoping he will.

Have you tried Avicalm? I am using that on my blue crowned conure because his hormones and molting is making him want to shred his feathers a bit. So far he has almost completely stopped.
Either way the birds are looking great! |
