More Aviary pics...
The late afternoon sun was nice and everybody is resting - this Aviary is such a joy to sit and watch for hours!
The peachicks got to spend some outdoor time in the breezeway  The rest are resting          all the rest of the time they are busy busy. I learned something neat about the splendids - they like to go to a sun patch on the ground and spread their wings out and lay flat soaking it up. like a little rainbow pancake!

It took a few weeks but the time we had btween other stuff was the dictator. It took a few hours to build the frame

I've only seen Neophemas sun bath, and it's quite hilarious!!! The first time I saw it, it was actually a mother and daughter bourkes who were fighting over a regular light bulb in a desk lamp turned on the cage for some extra heat. They spread their wings upwards (instead of down) so as to get heat into their "pits" or leaning towards the lamp to get the back of their wings. I just find it absolutely hilarious and adorable!
Lovely aviary! I'm sure all the birds are enjoying it!

Gonna try to get a pic of the sunbathing one day. Got some rocks and a few more things to create the waterfall. And some more natural dishes....Reptile pools!!!!lol.
