For anyone in the Phoenix AZ area.....

A good friend of mine on another forum was robbed today. She lives in Pheonix AZ. Bad enough that they wiped her out as far as appliances, tv's games, etc, but they also took her 3 most expesive birds. A green quaker named Mika, a goffins cockatoo named Jayden, and her blue ringneck named Bailey. She is just sick with grief and worry. If you live around there and see any of these birds come up for sale somewhere like craigslist or such, please please let me know. I'm just sick for her.

Ty...I'm just sick for her. She loves those birds like kids. The other things can be replaced, but not her babies. How could anyone be so completely cruel.

That is soooo sad!! I'm in the Phoenix area and will be looking out for ads. Tell your friend to also check neighboring cities/states for ads as they might be willing to drive to sell them. I hope she's contacted the police and the humane society, too.

How did they know those were the most expensive? Does she have any enemies, an ex, etc?

Yeah, she should plaster her area and all outlying areas with flyers with pictures and information. She should inform vet offices, shelters, and pet stores in her area and outside her area of what has happened. If her birds are registered (this is a huge reason why I will be micro chipping mine) she should alert the registrar that her birds have been stolen.

This is absolutely horrible what happened to her, and I truly hope for a happy ending.

No, no vindictive ex's or anything like that. It happened in the middle of the day as well, but no one seems to have seen a thing. She did call the police of course, and it took them 8 HOURS just to get there!!! The police did not give her much hope on finding the birds, and told her just what ya'll are saying, and what she already knew....to put out flyers everywhere she could, which is what she will be doing today. Please any of you that belong to other forums post this in as many places you can. All of us bird people need to help fellow bird lovers in a crisis like this. I'm just so sad for her.

How awful. My boyfriend thinks that I am weird because I do not let anyone know that comes over that we have exotic birds, but this is the reason. I am hoping they can find her birds, I would positively die of grief if it was me.
